The White House has responded to remarks made by Mark Ruffalo regarding JD Vance and Donald Trump.

Last evening, while appearing on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Ruffalo spoke with USA Today and was asked about the “BE GOOD” pin he wore alongside his tuxedo.

“This is in memory of Renee Nicole Good, who lost her life,” the actor explained.

Good was a 37-year-old woman who died after being shot by ICE officer Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 7.

Ross was involved in enforcement activity taking place in Good’s neighborhood, and video footage shows her seated behind the wheel of her vehicle. An officer attempts to open the door, but Good tried to drive away, leading Ross to discharge his weapon.

Following Good’s d3ath and the surrounding circumstances, Ruffalo wore the “BE GOOD” pin along with several other celebrities during the awards ceremony.

The Department of Homeland Security has defended the ICE officer’s conduct, stating that Good attempted to strike the officer with her vehicle and that his actions were justified.

While discussing the meaning behind his pin, Ruffalo also made pointed remarks, accusing Vice President JD Vance of “misrepresenting what is happening.”

Shifting his focus to Trump, the actor continued speaking: “We are currently involved in a conflict with Venezuela that was entered unlawfully. [Trump] is telling the world that international law holds no value to him.

“He is a pedophile,” Ruffalo added. “He is the worst type of person. If the most powerful nation on earth relies on this man’s morality, then we are facing serious danger.”

For context, Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records in May 2024 (via The Independent). That same year, a jury found him liable for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in 1996, though it was a civil case and not a criminal conviction.

Trump has also never been charged with any s3x crime, including pedophilia.

Steven Cheung, Assistant to the President and White House Director of Communications, issued a response to Ruffalo’s remarks.

Writing on Twitter alongside a Page Six article discussing Ruffalo and other celebrities criticizing ICE, he said: “Poor Mark Ruffalo, star of She-Hulk, is among the weakest actors in the industry.

“Even more impressively, he is an even worse individual for spreading blatant falsehoods, likely because he despises himself for knowingly subjecting audiences to his awful performance.”
